GREAT BRITAIN

The HSAT Helmet.

The HSAT Helmet (Helmet Steel Airborne Troops) this paratrooper is wearing is the perfect fit this impression. You can add a scrim net or paint it for camouflage.

(Be aware you may not fool anyone in the towns!)

Primary Weapon.

This "Joe" is armed with the Lee Enfield N°4 rifle, a newer improved version of the Short Magazine Lee Enfield or SMLE, as his primary weapon. We encourage all of you to use bolt action rifles as it enhances gameplay.

Denison Smock, Half Zip.

We cant complete a British Paratrooper without an iconic first pattern hand painted smock. This smock is worn over the BD Tunic and Service shirt.
(Jump wings on the right arm would signify that Joe is not a penguin.)

Belt Kit.

As you can see the soldier is wearing standard Pattern 37 Webbing, and its greenish hue denotes that it has been doused with in pea green (KG97) Blanco. Important items here for eating, hydration!
(Note the .303 bandoliers for extra ammo.)

Paratrooper Battledress Trousers.

Paratrooper Battledress BD Trousers are being worn here, if you were lucky to get them. The standard issue for British Paratroopers were the Pattern BD trousers.

Footwear.

Here you can see the Para is wearing Ankle Boots, Black, Ammo Boots, and Anklets Web (Gaiters).

Pvt Tappin, 156th Parachute Battalion
Arnhem, 1944

Here is one of our community member's 1st Airborne Paratrooper, A rifleman, or "Joe", a few days into the fighting during Op Market Garden. William has constructed a detailed impression of his great uncle, 5826871 Pvt.R.A.Tappin.156.Para.Bat, at Arnhem. This is Mid to Late war, between 1943-1945. This is the famous uniform worn by British Paratroopers and Glider Infantry throughout D-Day and Holland.

What about a sidearm?

If you limit your rifles to under 370fps / 1.27j you wont need a side arm, and this will allow you to storm enemy positions up close an personal. A rubber bayonet is far more effective than your rifle at such close quarters.

Can I use Officer kit? ?
We would NOT recommend coming to an event as an Officer or NCO. These roles are reserved for crew and people in command appointments.
